Purchasing a product

We want you to discover that purchasing a product from Green Machinery is a pleasant, trouble-free experience, so in addition to free delivery on all orders to the UK mainland over £50, we have designed the ordering process to be as simple and straightforward as possible.

The first step is to find one or more items that you wish to purchase, and then add them to your basket. If you are unsure of how to go about this, first have a look at the help pages below, and then return to this page once you are ready to go to the Checkout stage to place your order:

The Checkout process

Once you are happy with the contents of your basket and have decided to place your order, click the green Checkout button on your View basket page.

This will then move you on to the checkout process, which consists of four short steps:

1. Sign-in
2. Delivery
3. Payment
4. Confirm

Sign-in

The Sign-in stage varies depending on whether you are an existing customer (you have already registered with the site) or a new customer.

If you are an Existing customer, simply enter your Email address and Password in the boxes provided, then click the green Sign-in button.

If you are new to Green Machinery and have not yet registered with us, just scroll down to the New customers section and enter your name and email address in the boxes provided, then choose a password, and decide whether you wish to recieve news and special offer updates from us by ticking or unticking the box. Finally click the green Register button to confirm your details.

If you have signed-in to Green Machinery before clicking on Checkout, you will skip this step completely and be taken straight to the Delivery stage!

Delivery

The Delivery stage is where you provide the address you want your order to be delivered to.

You may select to deliver to an existing address from your Green Machinery address book (if you have any addresses stored). To do this, simply click the Use this address button below the address you wish to use. You will then be taken on to the Payment stage of the Checkout.

If you don't have any addresses currently stored, you may choose to deliver to a new address which you can enter in the spaces provided. This will then be stored in order to make the Checkout process even quicker in future.

When entering a new delivery address, you must give:

• The first and last name of the recipient
• Address
• City
• Country
• Postcode/Zip code
• Daytime telephone number

You may also choose to enter a company name and VAT number, and an evening telephone number.

When you have entered the necessary details, click the green Add button at the bottom of the Delivery page to proceed to the Payment stage.

Payment

The Payment stage is where you enter details of the card you wish to use to pay for your order. As with the delivery addresses, you may select card details that you have stored previously, or enter details of a new card.

One security measure that is always required when purchasing from Green Machinery is to enter the CVV number of the card being used to make the payment. This is a 3 or 4 digit code, usually found on the signature strip on the back of the card.

If you have previously added a payment card to your Green Machinery account, you should see it already displayed on the Payment page. If you wish to use this card, simply enter the CVV number in the box provided, and then click the Use this card button below the card details. This will take you to the final order Confirmation page.

If you have not ordered from Green Machinery or added a card to your account before, you will need to enter your card details under Pay with a new card. Remember to enter the CVV number in the box provided at the top of the screen, and then enter the following:

• Card holder's name (as it appears on the card)
• Card type (VISA, Mastercard etc.)
• Card number
• Expiry date

If you are using a Maestro, Switch or Solo card, you will also need to enter an issue date and/or issue number.

To ensure your peace of mind when using your card to make purchases online with Green Machinery, we use the Comodo SSL Certificate for transaction security.

When you have entered your card details, click the Use this address button below your previously entered address if it is the one related to your card. Alternatively, enter details of a new address and click the green Add button if the previously entered delivery address is not also the card holder's address. You will then be taken to the final order Confirmation page.

Confirm

Order Confirmation is the final stage of the Checkout process. You will be presented with the full details of your order including delivery and invoice addresses (which may be the same), your selected payment card, and your ordered product(s) including delivery cost if applicable and total order value.

You will notice there is also a box called Order note. This is provided in case you wish to give any additional notes or instructions in relation to your order. To do so, simply click in the box and type.

You should carefully review the details of your order, including adding an order note if you wish, and then if everything is correct, just click the green Confirm button at the bottom right of the screen to finalise your order and send it to us!

Even if you have never ordered from a website before, the whole checkout process should take no more than 5 minutes, and once you've experienced our service you'll fully understand why more and more people are choosing Green Machinery for all their small machinery and parts.
